I was born on 12th July in 1916 in Bila Tserkva (former Ukrainian Soviet Nation). While at the age of 14 years in 1930, i moved away with my family to Kyiv.
i graduated from the Kyiv University with a master’s degree in history in 1937
In June of 1941, age of 24 years, i volunteered at the recruiting office soon after Germany began invading the Soviet Union. I requested to join the infantry and was finally assigned to Red Army’s 25th Rifle Division.
however, they wouldnt accept girls, so i had to to make use of a couple of tricks, after being denied the first time....
Pavlichenko then shipped out to the battle lines in Greece and Moldova. In very little time she distinguished herself as a fearsome sniper, killing 187 Germans in her first 75 days at war.
