  • Benjamin Edwards came into a Mexican-controlled Nacogdoches, Texas and and thinks of  himself the ruler of the Republic of Fredonia.
  • Sam Houston Arrives  in Texas 1832
  • GTT means the are "gone to Texas" because they have lots of very cheap land.Many of the immigrants, however, did not get permission from the Mexican government to live in Texas, and therefore, were living in Texas illegally. To make matters worse, many Anglo Texans refused to be loyal citizens of Mexico. Secretly, many of them hoped that Texas would one day become a part of the United States.

  • "Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna ran for president in Mexico. He gained the support of the Anglo colonists in Texas. By saying he  allows all states, including the Anglo colonies of Texas, to have states’ rights as was guaranteed in the Mexican Constitution of 1824

  • In the winter of 1832,  Sam Houston made it to Texas.  He was already famous for his political success in Tennessee, as well of his heroics as a soldier in The War of 1812, Houston was welcomed by the colonists. All though Stephen F. Austin feared that Houston had come to start a war, with Mexico. To make Texas a part of the United State's
  • The Turtle Bayou Resolution of 1832 was written after the Disturbance at Anahuac. To say the Texans were loyal to Mexican consotution.  Texans supported Santa Anna woh said he would uphold the Mexican constution. 
  • Stephen F. Austin took matters into his own hands and traveled to Mexico for a meeting with Santa Anna . he tryed to convince the Mexican government that he and the colonists were good to Mexico. In return he hoped,Santa Anna might take back the Law of April 6th. But Santa Anna didnt like that idea and put him in jail.
