Storyboard Text

  • Long shot (10sec)
  • Dark long shot (0.5sec)
  • Static Screen (0.5sec)
  • A long shot of these two girls will establish the main characters in the film and viewers will know that they are typical girls who aren't suspecting anything bad to happen to them.
  • Extra Wide shot (2sec)
  • Before this, the screen will go black and then the screen will flicker between this dark background of the forest & the static screen quickly. This will make the viewers confused and their heart rate will be through the roof.
  • Close up (8sec)
  • It's like it was always watching us.
  • The screen going static will infer that the girls have struck a daunting situation.  This combined with echoed whispers creates tension for the viewers, they need to keep watching to see what is going to happen.
  • Mid shot (10sec)
  • In the final 'flicker' between the two shots, a dark figure will appear for one second. This will surprise viewers as they won't be expecting something quite creepy like a random figure standing still in the woods at night.
  • Here we have a close up of Hannah explaining that their power turned off one night and when they went to see if their neighbours had lost their power too, they saw the dark figure that the viewers saw just seconds previously.  Hannah talking about her experience will be a sound bridge, carrying over onto the next shots.
  • This mid shot will show the two girls seeing the dark figure outside their window. It is night time so they will be shocked to see that there is a figure outside, but viewers will already expect this. This allows the viewers to link the fact that the girls will be taunted by this man. Both Hannah and Maria will turn to each other with a terrified expression on their faces.
