Little John sat at home, he was really bored. He had no one to play with. Kansas was a lonely state. He wanted to go play with his friends, however, he had none. All he did all day was work on the farm. He wanted to do something else for a change.
John is then asked on a journey of a lifetime and he knows that he wants to go. He says,"Yes," and they are off on the journey of a lifetime.
During the journey, John and Merlin fight off attacking bats, ferocious wolves, terrifying rattle snakes, and lions that will not stop attacking for anything. Luckily, they defeat them and walk right through their “territory.” At the final stage, John and Merlin have to fight off the mighty unicorn named Rainbows. He is one feisty unicorn. He is the one who guards the treasure and sends the prisoners out to attack.
The wizard, Merlin, could do anything; however, he could not manage to figure out how to arrest and kill people. He could hurt them, but it wouldn’t help. The people are too powerful for him. He thought that a little boy would be the perfect thing/person to help him with his quest.
The talisman is a flashlight that Merlin puts upon John. The flashlight has X-Ray vision that only the person holding the flash light can use. It also had a power to see things from miles away. He knew if something were to attack him. It would give him enough time to prepare for an attack.
As they go a long, Merlin helps him, as well as little, vicious dogs they sense and attack all of the bad guys. There are some wood peckers that peck at anything violent or dangerous in sight. They also let John, Merlin, and the dogs ride on them. They detect the bad people as well.
