  • It is Anne's fifteenth Birthday. She received quite a lot of gifts from her parents. she also received some items from the Van Daans. She also received a gift form peter, in which she states; "A lovely bunch of peonies from Peter, the poor boy took a lot of trouble to ty to find something, but didn't have any luck.
  • Anne talks about how the Allied invasion continues even though there is horrible weather afflicting France. Anne also writes that The allied leaders visited the conquered villages. She also talks about the fact that Churchill was, in her words: "He appears, like so many men, not to know what fear is-makes me envious!"
  • Anne wonders how the people outside the annex have reacted to the news of the allied invasion. She thinks that people are undoubtedly happy that the English have finally done something.
