  • The hand that can string this bow with the greatest ease, and shoot clean through all 12 axes- he is the man i will marry
  • Antinous calls fourth the suitors to take turns stringing and shooting the bow

  • The first man up was Leodes, Oenops' son
  • His efforts proved fruitless. He could not bend the bow

  • Antinous is outraged at how quickly leodes accepted defeat
