  • Before Women's Suffrage
  • Women were not allowed to vote and they were greatly discouraged from being involved in politics.
  • Yet another year and we can not vote like the men.
  • When women entered the workforce they were paid far less then the men. They were taken advantage of by the factory owners. 
  • I worked almost 96 hours this week and got paid $6.
  • I worked 75 hours this week and got paid $7.50.
  • Women were stereo typed, that they should stay home to take care of house chores and the children.
  • I have 4 children and there is not enough hours in the day to finish everything that needs to be done.
  • Women's Suffrage Movement Begins
  • The Seneca Falls Convention was the first major convention for women's suffrage. Here the Declaration of Sediments was written, it outlined the rights women should have.
  • Women work as hard as men and should have the same rights as men!
  • For years women of all ages spoke out for their rights. Many influential women traveled the nation and sometimes the world to speak about rights for women.
  • We deserve rights and we will not rest until we get them!
  • The Congress of The United States of America has voted in favor of the 19th amendment.
  • In 1920, the 19th amendment was passed giving women the right to vote. Also by this time women had many more rights than they did at the beginning of the Women's Suffrage Movement.
