Storyboard Text

  • 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
  • I serve Professor Aronnax
  • I like this and also do not like this
  • I don't like dry land!
  • I want to escape and I like harpoons
  • Theme
  • DO NOT DRINK THIS
  • Kool Aid
  • Theme Development #1
  • "I am offering you now the opportunity to see what no man on earth has ever seen--all the wonders of the ocean depths. You will accompany me on an underwater voyage around the world. During this voyage, you will discover the last secrets of our planets!" (52)
  • Progress Report #3: Theme Nathan Miller
  • Theme Development #2
  • ""Monsieur Aronnax, I must lock you and your companions in the cell for a while."' (100)
  • "'Can you tell me why?'" (100)
  • Not everything is apparent as it seems, In the story, Professor Aronnax, Ned Land, and Conseil were captured by Captian Nemo aboard the Nautilus. Captain Nemo let them stay along on his voyage around the world. Along the on journey, they slowly realized that everything is not as good as it seems.
  • Theme Development #3
  • "'Captain,' I protested, 'are you really going to attack this ship?'" (218)
  • "'Monsieur, I am going to sink it! They have attacked me, but my attack will be even more terrible. They shall all die!'"(218)
  • Instead of trying to leave the Nautilus, they decided to stay and learn more about the ocean thinking everything is alright. In the image, Aronnax is on top of the Nautilus with Captain Nemo after getting lost from his ship. This helps develop the theme by having him think they are going to be in good hands.
  • Prediction
  • Oh no, I died!
  • I am free and can escape!
  • After they got away from some island cannibals, Captain Nemo soon see's something on the horizon. Aronnax tried to see what it was with his teloscope, but it was taken by Nemo and he told Aronnax to go back to their cell for a while. Later, they realized that it was a warship that was trying to take out the Nautilus. This helps develop the theme by making him wonder why he is going back in his cell.
  • A war ship starts to fire at the Nautilus and Aronnax, Ned, and Conseil try to signal to it to escape. Captain Nemo comes up to them and tells them that he is going to ram the Nautilus into the opposing ship. This helps develop the theme by having Aronnax finally realize why he is taking out opposing ships, it is for revenge.
  •
  • They will all probably escape and Captain Nemo will die. I think this is possible because they could sabotage the Nautilus and Nemo would go down with his ship since he does not want to go back to dry land. Aronnax, Ned, and Conseil would be saved a ship given to them by Captain Farragut.
  • I am Captain Farragut
