treating phobias - flooding
By prax2000, Updated
This storyboard does not have a description.
This is the participant that we will be using for 'flooding'. He has a phobia of dogs. This phobia is known as cynophobia. we are trying to treat this phobia ad our main aim is to substitute his anxiety with relaxation.
the participant is forced to a situation where he is exposed to the dog and he will not be able to escape from the situation.
even though this was very stressful at the start, after a while, the participant naturally calms down. your body will naturally relax because it cannot sustain an anxious state for too long as it will harm the body.
the participant will not be able to scream forever so when the participant eventually calms down, he will be used to the dog and will learn to associate the fear with relaxation
