  • The new warm water ports lead to the moving of the capital. Peter moved his capital to the east and by a port. The new capital was named St. Petersburg.
  • The ability to have these ports led to new amounts of trade. They traded to all around for food and goods. The trade industry boosted the economy for Russia.
  • Peter the Great wanted to be like Europe so much he forced his citizens to wear the same fashion as the Europeans.
  • He accomplished this by enforcing a tax on beards and changed the type of clothes his citizens could wear.
  • Peter the Great left a lasting impact on the Russian economy, military, and culture. He expanded the military, built a trading economy, educated his people, and changed the fashion of his people.
  • All these thing Peter the Great did left Russia in a golden age. His changes made Russia become a world power. Russia would stay a world power until the 1990s.
