The Whiskey Rebellion, was a tax protest in the United States beginning in 1791, during the presidency of George Washington.
I need your taxes!
Tax collectors were tar and feathered because the farmers refused to pay their taxes.
We will not give you the taxes.
George Washington sent 13,000 troops to the farmers that weren't paying their taxes. Alexander Hamilton thought that this was correct and the farmers should pay. Thomas Jefferson Thought that this was wrong and that the peoples rights were being violated.
