Storyboard Text

  • Holden talks to his date, Sally, in attempt to talk her into running away and starting over with him.
  • You can't just do something like that.
  • Look. Here's my idea. How would you like to get out of here?
  • Holden chats with his old friend Luce from Whooton to pass time and catch up.
  • How's Columbia? Ya like it?
  • Certainly I like it. If I didn't like it I wouldn't have gone there.
  • Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all.
  • Holden sneaks into his home and chats with his little sister, Phoebe, about what he wants to do when he is older.
  • Holden slept on Mr. Antolini's couch in order to keep from getting caught by his parents. He wakes up to Mr. Antolini 'petting' his head , panicked, and ran out.
  • What're ya doing, anyways?
  • How 'bout keeping your voice down? I'm simply sitting here--
  • Holden requests the office lady to give a note to Phoebe so she can meet him right after lunch thus to tell her goodbye.
  • I'm Phoebe's brother, her mom's sick and won't have lunch ready. Please give her this note.
  • Ok. I'll ask the woman in the other office to deliver it.
  • After having Phoebe meet him in the museum, she demanded to come to with him. Holden ended up letting her skip the rest of the school day to go to the zoo with him.
  • Phoebe! I'm going in the zoo! C'mon, now!
