  • Goddess of magic;deceiving,enchanted,& powerful Books 10-11 She was a witch who turned Odysseus's men into pigs and imprisoned them for years She is against the protagonist because she was an obstacle in Odyssus's way and slowed his journey
  • Hermes
  • Odysseus's son;courageous,brave & confident Books 3-4 He went out in search of his father in hopes of finding him and returning home safely He is for the protagonist because he is another person who tried to help Odysseus return home
  • Sirens
  • Odysseus's wife, Telemachus's mother; brave,clever, & beautiful Books 3-4 She helped by stalling and giving Telemachus more time to find his father while keeping the suitors busy She is for the protagonist for Odysseus is her love and wishes for him to return home once and for all
  • Scylla
  • Messenger of the Olympic Gods;witty,clever,& amusing Book 5 He was the one who convinced Calypso to let Odysseus go and to help him on his journey He is for the protagonist because he helped Odysseus leave Calypso to begin his journey home
  • Dangerous creature;irresistible,graceful,& compelling Book 12 The Sirens are the dangerous creatures who call among Odysseus and his crew in hopes that they will fall into compulsion The Sirens are against the protagonist because they are one of the most difficult obstacles that Odysseus must overcome to get home
  • A monster who lived near Charybdis;ravenous,vicious,& monstrous Book 14 She attacked Odysseus's ship and eats six of his sailors, one for each head She is against the protagonist because she threatens to take Odysseus's whole ship which would disrupt his journey home
