  • Andrew Jackson turning into a war hero as the US militia of 7000 meets up with 7500 british troops in New Orleans. It ended up being the biggest US victory in the war of 1812.There was over 2000 casualties for british and only 71 casualties for the US.
  • There were Five major effects of the war of 1812. The first one was the american industry grew because they were forced to grow more crops. The second reason was the Native Americans resistance was removed opening the midwest for expansion. The third effect was America gained power and respect by proving that we could protect ourselves. The fourth effect was a sense of nationalism swept through the country. And the final effect was the removal of the Federalist party.
