Storyboard Text

  • Well, Johnny, before you go to sleep, do you have any special requests for a bedtime story?
  • Yeah, I do! Can you and mom tell me the story of how you met?
  • Oh...well, sure honey! It all started when I was at the grocery store one morning...
  • Thank you, and you too!
  • Thank you for shopping at our store, and have a great day!
  • Oh, no! I've got to get this cleaned up, and quick! The cookout is supposed to start in an hour!
  • One night, Johnny was getting ready to go to sleep; his parents were tucking him in. They always read him a bedtime story before he goes to sleep, but this night Johnny had a special request.
  • Don't worry about me, I'm fine!
  • Nonsense, let me help you! It's really not a problem!
  • Julie was at her local grocery store one Saturday morning in May. She finished paying at the checkout, and then left the store with her heavy bags filled with items for her cookout she was having that afternoon.
  • I'm so happy you came!
  • Thanks for inviting me! Maybe I could take you out sometime?
  • Julie was walking to her car, which was parked almost at the end of the parking lot, when her bags broke and all of the groceries fell out and scattered all around her.
  • And that's the story of how your mom and I met!
  • Woah, I never knew that! Dad, that was such a nice thing you did!
  • Well, Johnny, it's important that you always remember, no act of kindness is ever wasted!
  • She tried to gather all of her groceries before anyone noticed her, because she was extremely embarrassed. That was when James came running out the door of the grocery store and to Julie's rescue. He dropped his own bags and helped Julie pick up her groceries and carry them to her car.
  • When they got to Julie's car, James introduced himself to her, and then Julie thanked him for being so kind to her. She invited him to her cookout that afternoon, and he accepted the invitation. They hit it off at the cookout, and the rest is history.
  • I'd really like that.
  • As Julie and James wrapped up their story, Johnny looked at them in awe. He had always assumed his parents had met at a party or the bar or something, but he was so impressed with the kindness his dad had shown towards his mom. After this bedtime story, Johnny will keep in mind that no act of kindness is ever wasted.
