  • Big Brother is watching you
  • Traitor!
  • This scene shows Winston in his house, with the telescreen watching him. Secretly, Winston is writing down his thoughts onto his diary.
  • As Winston is helping Ms. Parsons fix her kitchen sink, her kids rush in dressed in the uniform of spies, and accuse Winston of being a thought-criminal.
  • Winston is performing his occupation at the ministry of truth, and alters documents to support the party, and destroys evidence that potentially threatens the party.
  • As Winston visits the Prole district, he spots a random old man who he wants to ask, what life was like before the revolution. However, Winston is not getting the "old life vs life now" answer he wanted. Instead, the old man is spouting off random facts and experiences about himself.
  • Winston sees a dark haired girl walking up in front of him, and suspects she is spying on him. He considers either killing her or suiciding, but eventually does neither. 
  • Winston, who was originally depressed and worried from his previous encounter with the dark haired girl he thought was spying on him, ended up getting a confessment of love via a note, as the girl pretends to fall to hand the note to Winston in secrecy. Winston now feels his life has meaning and purpose.
