• Oh. Thats a ratio, lets go outside and ill tell you more about it.
• Well what did she say?
• Something like 3 to 15 then 4 to 15
• Hmmmm. I can't figure out what the cashier said to me.
• Well it explains how much one number is compared to the other part of the whole number or the whole number
• A ratio is a relationship between two numbers.
• Ok, but give me more. I still don't understand.
• She was probably telling you what the item costs to the total.
• Well with my discount I could have a bag of chips for 3 dollars or a pack of gatorade for 4 dollars.
• When learning a ratio you also need to learn proportion.
• No. A proportion is something that compares the ratio of two numbers in a relationship.
• Well whats that? Proportion like the amount of something you get?
• Just remember the differences and you will be able to tell others who don't know also.
• No problem, I love math and i'm so happy I got to teach it.
• Thanks for helping me understand Proportion and Ratio.
• Well I will see you another time and hope you had a great time learning Ratios and Proportion.
• I sure will remember this and use this for any other ratio related things people tell me.
