This takes place near the end of President Jaskon's first year
The President's Thoughts
Jaskon was forced to confront the state of South Carolina on the issue and approach of the "tariff". The Tariff would put a tax on incoming goods like wool clothing and iron.
Putting taxes on these items would make them more expensive, therefore the Southern states would buy them from the Northern states. So this would support the U.S instead of the European countries.
In the end South Carolina declared that the tariff should not count or matter anymore.
