Ok, class. Today we are going to work on a graphic organizer called Double Entry. This organizer is really helpful because you can use it in every class!
A Double Entry looks just like a two-column chart. On the left side you put a question, a vocabulary word, a math equation, a quote; the options are limitless!
On the right side of chart, you will either answer the question, write the definition of the vocabulary, solve the math equation step by step, or analyze the quote.
The Double Entry is used to make sure you are understanding what you are reading in class. I am going to have you all go into your work groups and work on a double entry for each subject: math, science, and social studies.
Well, Miss Kress wants to make sure we can use what we learn in English class to be used in our other classes to help us out more.
I do not like this at all. Why do we need to know how to do this graphic organizer?
Oh, I get it! Miss Kress said we could use a Double Entry for almost anything. So lets try vocabulary for Social Studies. I have been struggling with the new words.
Yeah! Mr. Jones picked the extra hard words this week.
You're right! This is a good study method too! Lets try the Order of Operations for math next! I need help with that.
This is actually really helpful! I like how the vocabulary is right next to the definition. I can cover up one side to help me study!
