  • The Magna Carta
  • And so, the Magna Carta was made.
  • Let's call it, the Magna Carta. It shall be a rule every king has to follow.
  • Yeah!
  • Kings before also followed the Magna Carta!
  • Baron Harold and King Joseph of England came to an agreement of the Magna Carta. Their deal was for King Joseph to lower the tax price and he would still be their king. But the Magna Carta brought more power to the barons and contributed in the decline of feudalism. This is how it happened.
  • We need to discuss our rights as barons.
  • The Magna Carta was written by Henry II in the year of 1215.
  • If you do not sign in 3 days, we will kick you out.
  • I guess, I should shake on it.
  • They decided to make a deal!
  • Hmm.. Should I sign the paper?
  • Day 1
  • The Magna Carta was an agreement for the barons and the king. It established the idea of rights that even the king could not violate.
  • I have made the taxes lower!!
  • One day, Harold and the other barons angerly came to King Joseph in a meadow called Runnymede. Harold came their to dicuss their rights and if King Joseph could lower the tax prices.
  • While Harold was talking to King Joseph about lowering the taxes,  King Joseph did not listen. Then, Harold told him that if he did not lower the taxes, they would kick him out. King Joseph did a lot of thinking and decided to sign and seal the deal because he did not want to lose his job as king. Once the deal was made, King Joseph did not have enough money to provide an army for the wars they would have.
