  • We must remove Antony as well. He is a threat.
  • To kill Antony would be to cut off the arms of a beheaded Caesar.
  • Brutus holds the second highest position in Rome.
  • Anagnorisis
  • Brutus loves Rome more than he loves Caesar, and he believes that killing Caesar is the best choice.
  • Nemesis
  • He would be crowned.... And therefore think him as a serpent's egg Which hatched, would as his kind grow mischievous, And kill him in the shell.
  • Caesar does not believe that it is necessary to kill Antony when Caesar is already dead. This decision allows Antony to later arouse a rebellion in Rome.
  • Brutus Dies
  • Brutus finds out that Antony has successfully convinced the people of Rome to rebel against his conspiracy group. Brutus must prepare for war against Antony.
  • Why comest thou?
  • Brutus meets Caesar's ghost and war against Antony is inevitable. Caesar's ghost also foreshadows this.
  • To tell thee thou shalt see me at Philippi.
  • Brutus kills himself, since he would rather die to his own hands than be taken prisoner by Antony.
