  • Why is copyright important?
  • Copyright definition: The exclusive legal right, given to an originator or an assignee to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material, and to authorize to do the same.
  • When in doubt, ask permission from the originator
  • What is acceptable: -A single chapter from a book -Single chart, graph, diagram, drawing, cartoon, or picture
  • What is NOT acceptable: -Copying an entire book -Playing an entire movie without permission
