  • Exposition: The narrator loves the old man and he is trying to convince the audience he is not mad, he just has his senses highly developed.
  • Conflict: The narrator hates the "Evil Eye" of the old man and he wants to get rid of it.
  • Rising Act: The narrator watched the old man sleep for 7 days but he could do the job because his eye was closed.
  • Climax: The 8th night of watching the old man sleep, he woke up and it was time to kill him.
  • Falling Action: The narrator dismembered and hid the body of the old man and the police came into the house to check for suspicious activity.
  • I did It! I killed the old man!
  • Resolution: The narrator could not handle the pressure and guilt anymore so he confessed his actions to the police.
