Bringing x-(-3)=10 to life!
I have to get 10 fruits in all. I have to get -3 apples, but that doesn't make sense. I also have to figure out how many oranges to get. I'll turn it into an equation. x-(-3)=10
Since -3 apples doen't make sense, I need to change x-(-3)=10 to x+3=10.
Now I'll use the inverse operation. x+3=10 -3 -3 x=7 That means that I need 3 apples, and 7 oranges. That way I'll have 10 fruits in all.
