What are we doing at the doctor's office, Grandma??
Well, I am old and I need my health checked every once and a while.
Margaret Smith, I am ready for you to come back for your exam!
Okay, I just need to check your height, weight, and basic vitals.
Okay, I am going to use this blood sample real quick to check your cholesterol and other things! I will be back in a couple minutes!
Okay, take your time!
Well, the doctor takes some of my blood and they do some stuff with it and then they tell me if I am healthy or not. There are two types of cholesterol, and one of them is something you do not want.
Grandma, what is cholesterol??
So what are the two types of this thing called cholesterol?
There is one called HDL which stands for high density lipoprotein and there is LDL which stands for low density lipoprotein. I know these words might be confusing, but you can ask the doctor when she gets back what they do and mean.
