  • In this scene, Reverend Parris has found that his 10 year old daughter Betty will not wake up and he begins to assume that witchcraft has a part in it. Tituba comes in to check on her but Parris doesn't want people to see this, so he sends her out.
  • My Betty be hearty soon?
  • Act One
  • Wake up Betty! Out of here
  • During this scene, Parris asked Abigail what had happened in the woods and why his daughter Betty will not wake up from the night's sleep.
  • It were only sport, uncle.
  • Act One
  • It were not sport, she can not wake!
  • In act two, John and Elizabeth Proctor are questioned by Mr. Cheever on whether they have poppets in the house and that the court has seen problems with them. Also said here is that there is a needle in the doll's stomach and that Abby was stabbed at the dinner table in the same place.
  • Act Two
  • Has the court found text in the poppets now?
  • Would you mind giving it to me?
  • In this scene, Elizabeth Proctor is being arrested for suspicion of witchcraft.
  • You will not go!
  • I'll go John.
  • Act Two
  • I have 9 men outside. You cannot keep her. The law binds me, John. I cannot budge.
  • In this part, Danforth is speaking to Martha Corey and asking if she is a witch.
  • Now, Martha Corey, there is evidence telling us that you have read fortunes. Do you deny it?
  • Act Three
  • I am innocent to a witch. I know not what a witch is.
  • In the beginning of act four, Elizabeth and John Proctor are talking while in his jail cell after Rev. Parris and Hale have told her to go speak to him about confessing.
  • John, it come to naught that I should forgive you, if you'll not forgive yourself.
  • Act Four
  • Enough, enough-
