  • That vulcher eye is gone!! Forever!!
  • The story takes place at an old house for a week straight. It always takes place every night at midnight. The main characters are the narrator, the old man, and the police officers.
  • Climax
  • Finally, his heart has stopped beating!!
  • The conflict of the story is both man vs. self and man vs. time. He was trying to convince the reader that he was sane and he was also always racing against time.
  • Falling Action
  • Would a madman think of this?
  • The old man's eye bothered the narrator. He would stare at the old man as he slept. The old man woke up on the 8th night. The narrator jumped into the room and dragged the old man to the floor, pulling the bed over the old man.
  • Resolution
  • Stop that ticking!!! What is that horrible noise?!
  • As the old man was lying there, the narrator was anxiously waiting for the old man's heart to stop beating. He died from suffocation.
  • The narrator dismembered the body in the bathtub. He put the pieces under the floorboards. As he's sitting there on top of the dismembered body parts, three police officers show up and ask to search the house.
  • The narrator starts getting more anxious as the police stay longer. The tick-tick noise of his hearts starts to beat and gets louder and louder as the police stay. The narrator starts freaking out and flips.
