Abraham and his wife Sarah gave birth to Issac . Their family lived in Egypt. Their grandson Jacob ruled Egypt with 12 different tribes.
Around 720-585 B.C people known as the Romans took over the kingdom. The Romans wanted to expand their empire so they started to take over kingdoms that were easy to take over. They would take over the Kingdom and then make a king of their choice to rule the area. The Romans started to make more of their kingdoms and more provinces.
200 B,C The Greek empire decided to take over the Israel And Judah. The Jews were forcibly removed from their homes because the Greek empire wanted to rule. This place was later renamed Palestine. The land was divided into two main groups, Syria and Egypt. The Greek empire showed the Jews how this would work their way and introduced their own language.
The Jews wanted to be free, they wanted their freedom. They wanted their religion to be free. Their biggest problem was the general of Egypt. He was the ruler of Palestine. The Romans beat the Greeks in a war. After this war the holiday named "hanukkah" was named after this battle.
The kingdom of Israel was formed. Saul was the very first king of this kingdom, Then David was the greatest king to rule this kingdom. They rebuild their temple, it was a religious leaders, they didn't have no government.
70 A.D The Jews were still struggling to their freedom. Their religion was rally important to them. The religion leaders became very important to the Jews. Around 1948 Palestine was known as Israel, this is where all the Jews lived.
