  • Penny: orange and red represent a passion for her job as an actress and for her dog Bolt: white represents his timeless loyalty to Penny
  • Crossing the Threshold
  • Approach
  • Rhino: brown and yellow represent his hopeful and cheerful life on land Mittens: black and white represent terror and innocence of an abandoned cat
  • Penny adopts a dog named Bolt. After 5 years, they are in a TV show called "Bolt". Bolt believes that his superpowers are real.
  • Ordeal, Death & Rebirth
  • In the show, Bolt misunderstands that Penny is kidnapped by the villain Dr.Calico. While trying to find Penny, he falls into a box of Styrofoam and is accidentally shipped to New York.
  • Road Back
  • Bolt, who assumes that Mittens is Dr.Calico's cat, compels Mittens to help him. They start a journey to find Penny. On the way to Hollywood, a hamster named Rhino joins their road trip in Ohio.
  • Resurrection and Return
  • While Bolt argues with Mittens on his superpowers, they are taken into an animal shelter. Bolt, who escaped earlier, saves Mittens with Rhino. Mittens claims that Penny and his power aren't real and that Penny abandoned him.
  • Bolt still trusts Penny and continues his journey without Mittens and Rhino. Bolt finally arrives at Hollywood and finds his home. In the studio, however, he misapprehends that Penny has another dog.
  • When he leaves the studio, he notices there's a fire in the studio. Bolt goes into the building. He barks through the air vent and saves Penny. Penny adopts Mittens and Rhino, and they live together.
