  • What was early japan society like back then?
  • The population is concentrated on four main islands.  And there where made of up of different clans.
  • How was Japan involved in trade? 
  • They mostly used barter but when they did trade they did it with foreign lands. They shipped raw materials such as swords and painting in return for silk and books.
  • What did women have power over in Japan during this time?
  • Certain level of equality.
  • What is prose fiction? 
  • Ferm of language that shows nature flow of speech.  And a navel is considered an extended prose fiction. 
  • Aristocratic women appeared in courts, they were also entertainers.
  • How were women involved in the Japanese society? 
  • They believed in Kami and Shinto.
  • What did Japanese believe in spiritually?
  • How did Zen emerge and did it come form another religion ?
  • Chinese Monks brought it to Japan, it came from the Buddhist religion.
