  • The Digestive System
  • Hi, I'm the Mouth! I grind down the food then push it into my friend the esophagus, who takes it into the stomach.
  • Hey, this is the esophagus! When food is put in me, I act like a muscle and push it through me to the Stomach!
  • Hello, I am the Stomach! I churned and mix the food with enzymes and digestive juices, which then break down the proteins and fats. But don't worry; a lining of mucus protects me from that acid. From here, the food (or chyme) goes to Small Intestine.
  • Esophagus
  • Thanks, Stomach! I'm Small Intestine, and I am where most of the nutrients are absorbed. In the beginning of the process, my friends Liver and Pancreas help me out by breaking down the food with me. After this, fingerlike structures, known as villi, take the nutrients out of the chyme. Then this soupy material moves on to Large Intestine.
  • I'm the pancreas, and I help with the digestive breakdown in Duodenum.
  • Hi! I'm the liver, and I also help out Large Intestine in Duodenum by sending digestive juices.
  • I am the Large Intestine. As you can see, I am shorter than my friend Large Intestine, but I'm still just as important. I suck up most of the water out of the chyme, in a process called absorption. And guess what? I KEEP YOU HYDRATED! After I suck out most of the water, all of the solid waste left over moves to Rectum.
  • I am Rectum. I store all of the waste your body does not need. When you have to go to the bathroom, it is usually because you have too much waste. The whole digestive process can take 2-3 days, and it is very important. Now, if you'll excuse me, go over to Kidneys and they'll explain to you the urinary system.

  • The Urinary System
  • Necessary Papers
  • Hi, we are Kidneys! As you might know, all those things you have to do to survive-like eating, drinking, and breathing-create poisons in your bodies. That is why Excretory System is here to help! Inside us Kidneys, we have little filters called nephrons that filter out any unwanted stuff from your body. You might know this unwanted stuff better as urine. Every 10 or 15 seconds, we send that urine to Bladder, who will take it from here.
