Storyboard Text

  • Many settlers from eastern Canada were moving into the province of Manitoba. This was leading to the lack of space, there fore leading the settlers to have to shift into the Metis land.
  • This is our land! you cannot move in without our consent. We want our rights and our privacy.
  • We require your land!!!
  • when ever the metis people filed for a land claim, it was often overseen and delayed.
  • This land claim of the metis can be dealt with later. There are more important ones here.
  • land claims metis
  • The settlers eventually started to inhabit the metis land therefore taking away their living space. The metis would apply to get their land rights back but they would often be delayed.
  • Soon the adments were added to the Manitoba act which made the ownership of land harder for the metis. This led to most of the metis people to leave Manitoba, and the majority of the land was then inhabited by the settellers.
  • Manitoba is no longer fit for us.
  • Its a relief that we finally got our land!
  • A lot of the metis people headed west to what is now Saskatchewan.
