  • Growing Tensions Between the Colonist and Britain
  • Riley Messick

  • Britain was making all the rules for the colonist. Taxation without Representation were making rules without colonist having a vote and Britain was passing "Acts" to pay off the dept for the French/Indian war.
  • The Boston Massacre
  • Don't fire!!
  • FIRE??!!
  • The quartering act was when Britain ordered the colonist to provide necessities for the British soldiers. For example they had to provide them with food, water, transportation, fuel and candles. Nobody liked it because the soldiers wanted to be home and the colonist didn't want to pay for all the soldiers stuff.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • The stamp act said that the Colonist would have to pay tax for all paper items including the news paper, paper, deck of cards, ect. They were also charged for whatever they used. For example if you had pay your mom every time you opened a door. The Stamp Act was repealed due to the Colonist complaining.
  • The Intolerable Act
  • The Boston Massacre was when the Colonist were angry at the soldiers. A crowd gathered around the soldiers and started throwing rocks, stone and snowballs. Captain Preston yelled either "Fire" or "Don't fire". They all fired and killed five people.
  • The Boston Tea Party when the British to the Colonist they could only buy from the "British India Tea Company". Britain als taxed the tea. The Colonist were angry so, they dressed up as indians and threw the shipment of tea off the boat into the Boston Harbor. 
  • The Intolerable Act was when the laws were so harsh that the Colonist would not tolerate or accept them. They closed the port to the harbor so the trade ships couldn't get in or out. This started the First Continental Congress.
