  • 1) Lord: [to leontes] Sir you have done enough. No fault could you make which you have not redemmed,forget your evil; with them
  • 7)Leontes: good Paulina who hast the memory of hermonie i know and honor. i had squared me to thy counsel then even now i might have looked upon my queens eyes and take treasure from her lips.
  • 2)Leontes: I remember her and her virtues the wrong i did to myself. i destroyed the sweetest compainion and have a heirless kingdom
  • 3)Paulina: True too true if one by one you wedded all the world or from all took something good to make a perfect woman she you killed would be unparalled.
  • 4) Leontes: She i killed? i did so but thou strik'st me sorely to say i did; it is as bitter upon thy tounge as in my thought
  • 5)Lord: Not at all good lady you might have spoken a thousand that would have done time more benefit and graced your kindnes better.
  • 6)Paulina: you are the one who would have him wed again. There is none worthy. Besides the gods wont allow it till King Leontes lost child is found till then he must not have a heir.
  • 8)Paulina: And left them more rich for what they yielded.
  • 9)Leontes: You speak the truth.No more such wives, therefore no wife.I'll have no wife,Paulina.
  • 10)Paulina: Will you swear never to marry but by my free leave?
  • 11)Leontes: Never,Paulina so be blest my spirt.
  • 12)Paulina: Then good my lords, bear witness to his oath.
