Act 1

Storyboard Text

  • I am a cobbler. I do not meddle in politics.
  • I am a carpenter, sir.
  • Feb.15.44BC
  • WELCOME CAESAR
  • Murellus, we should undress the statues that are decorated for Caesar.
  • Hey, get out of here! You should not praise Caesar. Don't you remember when you followed Pompey?
  • MURELLUS
  • FLAVIUS
  • BRUTUS
  • CAESAR
  • Hey Calphurnia, stand in front of Antony. Antony, touch Calphurnia as you run by so we can have kids.
  • Calphurnia
  • What ever you say Caesar!
  • BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!
  • ANTONY
  • SOOTHSAYER
  • See how weak he is Brutus! I, Cassius, was swimming in full armour and he screamed for my help like a child. And now we expect him to rule us? It's absurd.
  • Help me, Cassius, or I sink (1.2.113)
  • What a blunt fellow is this grown to be! 1.2.290
  • BRUTUS
  • Caesar was offered the crown three times but refused it all three times. On the third time, Caesar got so mad he had a seizure. When he finally came to, he apologized and the common folk accepted his apology without a thought.
  • CASCA
  • What did you say? Caesar fainted?
  • CASSIUS
  • Your are seeing things Casca, and being superstitious. I'm going home for the weather is bad.
  • "A common slave... held up his left hand, which did flame and burn like twenty torches" (1.3.15-17)
  • March 14 44BC
  • CICERO
  • We need Brutus! The things we are planning to do will look much better if Brutus was on our side.
  • I will put these papers where you told me to Cassius.
  • CINNA
  • Cinna, put these on Brutus' chair and on old Brutus' statue, so we can get him on our side. He is only 75% - we need him to be fully with us!
