Why are there so many problems with letting Kansas and Nebraska joining the union?
Lets make an act called the Kansas-Nebraska Act that allows people in the territories of Kansas and Nebraska to decide for themselves whether or not to allow slavery within their borders.
The Kansas-Nebraska Act also serves to repeal the Missouri Compromise of 1820 which prohibited slavery north of latitude 36°30´.
No! That's not fair. The compromise is to be an agreement!
Whoohoo! Thats great!
Yayy, Pro-Slavery wins the election!!
No you carried out the election and you cheated. We're not accepting this.
I need to send in Federal troops to stop the violence and disperse the anti-slavery legislature.
Sorry, Congress does not recognize the constitution adopted by the pro-slavery settlers and Kansas is not allowed to become a state.
