  • Sea is so... captivating
  • I have a offer, our company wants to hire you. To get... across the top of the world, the ice would melt as you go because of heat, so it wouldn't be too hard.
  • So high... Like a round castle.
  • Henry spend his whole early life at the sea, slowly making his way to ship captain.
  • I see it, the land!
  • Muscovy Company of England hired Hudson to find a northern route to the Pacific coast of Asia. At the time, the English were had an economic battle with the Dutch for control of northwest. It was thought that, because the sun shone for three months  in north in the summer, the ice would melt and a ship could make it across the "top of the world".
  • Northwest Passage... it doesn't exist...
  •  They reached the east coast of Greenland, coasting it northward. Here the party named a headland "Young's Cape".
  • On his second voyage on 3 September he reached the the river that initially was called the "North River" or "Mauritius" and now carries his name. He was not the first  to discover the river, though, as it had been known since 1524. On 6 September John Colman of his crew was killed with an arrow. Hudson sailed into the upper bay on 11 September, and the following day he found Hudson River. Over the next ten days he found present-day Albany.
