Abraham Lincoln was a compassionate and trusted leader who helped out a lot throughout the civil war. He helped with slavery, segregation, and much more.
Jefferson Davis was the president of the confederate states from 1862-1865, for three years
Robert E. Lee left the U.S army to lead for the confederacy. He commanded the Army of Northern Virginia, but he later surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant in 1865
William Carney was the first black solider in the Union to receive an award. He was brave and took the flag during battle while he was severely wounded.
Ulysses S. Grant was a commander of the Union army. He also created a plan and marched through Georgia, known as Sherman's march. He destroyed towns throughout the march.
Philip Bazaar was a Navy seaman in the Union. He received medals for his bravery and for what he had done to help the Navy.
