Storyboard Text

  • One fine day Hephaestus, the god of fire, went for a stroll in the woods. This was not unusual because he goes for a walk every day to warm the animals.
  • Hephaestus came upon a meadow with no trees, and a few houses.
  • Oh my! This wasn't here yesterday! Someone must have cut down the trees!
  • He hid in the bushes, and overheard two voices.
  • We will be the greatest city in Italy, and I will be the richest king as long as I cut down the trees.
  • Let's name this city Pompeii, and everyone will come running to see our city!
  • Well I will! I don't care about you. I care about me, and I will build the great Pompeii at all costs.
  • Go away and never come back, otherwise I will have to sever your head off!
  • You cannot do that! You will hurt everyone who lives here, including me!
  • Hephaestus went home, angered and disappointed.
  • Hephaestus sat in his room for hours, and after a lot of thinking, he came up with the perfect plan that he would use the next day.
  • The next day, Hephaestus built an enormous volcano and all of the villagers saw and were frightened.
  • I am the great god Hephaestus, and no more will you destroy nature! If you do though, I will make fire spew out from this structure called a volcano, and it will burn all of you!
