He isn't thinking about how close he is to the fire. The teacher must remain the calming, emotionally neutral influence. Don't approach him at this time. That is a threatening behavior.
The teacher's hands should be held in a non-threatening manner. When speaking, use a monotone voice. Help the student find a way out of this by giving him courses of action to choose from.
The fire is cooled. Calm is restored. The teacher resumes teaching. The student is sulking but at least he's calm.
