The Ways of Maycomb
When Jem and Scout are playing with a tire Scout crashes and the tire ends up in the Radley's yard. When Scout is too afraid to go into the yard Jem chastises her for showing weakness and acting "like a girl"
Treatment of Houseguests
When Scout learns that people in Maycom call her dad a n***er lover she asks Atticus about it. He explains that if he didn't defend people regardless of skin color then he could not bring himself to hold authority over anyone. This is quite contrary to the dominant view in Maycomb.
On the first day of school, Walter Cunningham comes to class without a lunch. Unaware of Maycomb's social structure Miss Caroline offers him a nickel which he politely declines. Scout then stands up and explains to her that the Cunninghams are poor and don't take handouts
When Scout invites Walter Cunningham over for dinner she expresses confusion at his eating habits. This causes Calpurnia to immediately haul her out of the room to explain that Walter is a guest and should be treated as such.
Jem and Scout find a box in a tree knothole. Scout wants to keep what's in the box so Jem explains the value of other people's property.
Scout knew how to read before she could even remember so it came as a shock when she wasn't allowed to read at school. When she complained about this to Atticus they struck an agreement that if she continued going to school he would read with her every night
