Black Ships Before Troy
By: Mia M Griggs
The conflict started when Paris forgot all about his true love Oenone who was for him in the woods and Paris went into single combat with Menelaus for a second time and he also took Helen with him and she was mad at him but Aphrodite had promised him a good wife and that's what she intended to do so she cast a spell on Helen to make her love Paris again. It worked and Aphrodite's word was safe and the main Greek fighter's friend died, Achilles. His friend was eager and determined to kill Hector because he dragged his dead body on the back of his charriot which meant that he dishonored his dead body.
During the Rising Action the gods got mad at Patrolocous and said that he had to give his body back to his dad. He did as he was told and he cried with the enemy's dad. They ate and drank together and the king gave him a lot of gold, just about then Troy was receiving a big wooden horse from the Greeks, the Trojans were foolish enough to open it and when the Trojans opened the Greek horse many Greeks came pouring out of it.
For the climax what happened was it was actually Aphrodite's idea but she gave it to the Greeks and it worked out finely, many important people died during that time and the Greeks were winning and Paris had died so the Trojans had thought that they were winning because the Greek ships were sailing out already. All of the Trojan victory decoration was ruined. The story was mostly man vs. man and man vs. society.
The falling action started when Oedone was left alone and her body was burned along side the pyre with Paris. All of the Trojan generals were dying and the war was coming to an end. Sea serpents appeared and killed many Trojans, mostly kings and their sons when they would wrap their cold wired tenticles around them and choke them to death. Menelaus who was the rightful husband of Helen set out to find her, while Troy lay in ashes Helen was hiding from Menelaus. After a long while of coaxing Helen finally went to Menelaus and was safe.
The resolution was when Helen was reterned back to Menelaus who was her rightful husband. The Trojans had lost so their people were put on ships and were to be slaves for the Greeks.
