The genetic variation of this scene is there are some sand colored and the other type of fish is a bright orange fish.
The overproduction for the orange fish is 3 baby fishes but only 1 makes it to adulthood. But the sand colored ones produce 5 and about 4 make it to adulthood.
The tan fish have a higher fitness because of their color letting them camouflage into the sand and they will be able to survive and reproduce.
The tan fish trait becomes more common overtime because the orange fish are easier to spot.
