HELP! ST. ANNE, ILL BE A MONK!
In Germany, Martin Luther studied law and he was returning to law school when he was struck by lighting. He fell to the floor and yelled "help St. Anne, I'll become a monk". Then Luther became a thrologian monk.
Luther believed you dont have to go to church to get your soul cleaned, humans may reach salvation by faith alone and he believed everyone had the right to read the bible. And he said the bible should be written in the peoples lanuage not just Latin. So he wrote the 95 theses. Martin Luther said "even if i knew that tomrrow the world would go to pieces, i would stil plant my apple tree". martin was trying to say even if the world goes to pieces tomrrow he would still write the 95 theses.
You are excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
He spread his beliefs by the help of Gutenberg's printing press. Also he found in the bible the answer he was looking for which was buying indulgence could not get you into heaven. Martin gained support from the people and criticism from churches. He pasted the 95 theses on the church doors in Wittenberg, Germany, 1517.
You do not have to indulgences to go to heaven.
In 1521 Luther was summoned to diet of worms before the Holy Roman Emperor King Charles V.
1521, Pope Leo excommunicated Martin Luther from the Catholic church. From there Luther went into hiding in the town of Eisenach for the next yearand this is wher ebe began to work on one of his major life projects, the translation of the New Testament in German. This was the beginning of the protestant religions.
Many peasants realised that all the things Martin Luther was saying about the church and 95 theses were right and they thought it was an adavantage so the rebeled and followed Luther as he was doing good deeds for them.
