  • Here Michelangelo works on the statue of Moses. It was one of his most famous sculptures. It was to honor Pope Julius 2.
  • The Pietn
  • Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475 in Caprese. He was known as "Divino" (the divine one). He was born into a family of bankers.
  • David
  • On June 25, 1496 Michelangelo was 21 years of age. He then traveled to Rome. When he arrived he started to sculpt Bacchus.
  • Michelangelo created The Pietn to show emotion, and his religious belief. It was one of his most famous artwork.
  • In 1501 Michelangelo was given the task to create David. The task was given to him by the Guild of Wool Merchant. It represents High Renaissance Art.
