Storyboard Text

  • Perspective and Motivation
  • What did you call me!?
  • Why are you looking at me like that?
  • Claim
  • My reason to kill was more justified then yours!
  • Are you sure about that?
  • Text Evidence
  • My action really were justified.
  • For me, the text states, " One of his eyes resembled that of a vulture-a pale blue eye, with a film over it... I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye forever." This shows why my actions were justified.
  • The perspective of Montresor is that insults come with punishments. His motivation was that he felt insulted, thus he had to kill. The narrator's perspective was that you should not be different. His motivation was the old man's eye that creeped him out.
  • Analysis
  • Montresor's action was more justified then the narrator's.
  • Counterclaim
  • He was more justified, my eye was very creepy!
  • For Montresor, the text states, "No one insults me without punishment." This shows me that he thought that killing was the punishment for the insult.
  • Wrap Up
  • See! I told you my actions were more justified.
  • The text evidence shows me why the narrator and Montresor both thought that their reasons to take another person's life was justified.
  • The narrator's reason to kill a person were more justified. The text states, "I loved the old man. He had never wronged me. He had never given me insult. For his gold I had no desire. I think it was his eye! Yes, it was this!"
  • Overall, neither of the men had a very strong reason to kill somebody, but they both were somewhat justified.
  • Dang! You are right!
