  • CAPTAIN!!! SHE CAN'T SEE!!!!!
  • Oh no!
  • OW!
  • She doesn't know better!
  • Get back here! You...
  • ANNIE!
  • NO! Grant is a foolish Yankee!
  • Even though we lost, Grant is still very intelligent
  • Annie!
  • Helen only was a baby when her parents discovered that she was blind and deaf. They were terrified. Helen grew up like this; blind, deaf, and spoiled. Later, Aunt Ev advises writing to the Perkins Institute for the Blind. So they did, and in a little while's time, Annie Sullivan from the Perkin's Institute come to help with Helen.
  • Two weeks Annie.
  • Yes Annie, Two weeks, for a miracle.
  • Annie later discovers how spoiled Helen really is. When Helen staps her witha sewing needle and starts throwing a tantrum, Kate steps in and give Helen a candy to calm her down which Annie sees as a reward. Annie discovers she has a lot of work to do, especially when she is locked in her room by Helen! She eventually is carried out the window by Captain Keller .
  • NO! She WILL understand!
  • = M
  • ?
  • Just give up. There's no use.
  • Helen then proceeds to go into the dining room for breakfast. She gropes around in everyone's plates and eats whatever she desires. James and Captain Keller are oblivious while arguing about the Battle of Vicksburg. When Annie denies Helen access to her plate, Helen then throws a tantrum. This then leads to a huge fight between Annie and Helen in which Annie tries to, and succeeds, teach Helen some manners.
  • SHE KNOWS!!!!
  • Wah-Wah.
  • =
  • I need complete control of her.
  • A day later, Annie, Captain Keller, and Kate gather at night to discuss Annie's work. Annie says she needs complete control of Helen to get to her. They decide on giving Annie two weeks at the garden house. Two weeks for a miracle.
  • WOOF!
  • A few days have passed since Annie brought Helen to the garden house, and the two weeks are almost up. James stops by and sees that Annie is still having trouble teaching Helen. He then tells her to give up, but Annie being Annie uses her stubbornness and determination to teach Helen even more. Later when the two weeks are over and Annie and Helen come back, Annie sees that the Keller family almost discards all of her hard work.
  • When Helen gets testy on what she can do now that she is back to the Keller house, she splashes the water pitcher onto Annie. Annie then drags her outside and makes Helen fill it up again. That is when the miracle happens. Helen touches the water and Annie spelles into her hand W-A-T-E-R. Helen then touches the water and spells to Annie W-A-T-E-R. Annie then nods yes and Helen understands! Helen the goes around groping to see what names things have. Kate and Annie are relived (for different reasons) and thus ends the play
