Part of English final. Describe the story and what happened in/during the Gettysburg Address.
It was on November 19, 1863 that Abraham Lincoln had written and read the Gettysburg Address aloud.
Lincoln had not been prepared to speak; he wrote his speech on a napkin during the train ride there.
People came from all over to hear him speak.
"...of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth."
Lincoln's speech had only been two minutes long.
Lincoln's speech was so short the only photo taken during it was of him exiting the stage.
I didn't get but one photograph of him leaving the stage!
To this day the Gettysburg Address is still thought to be honored and should continue to be an important part of history.
