Storyboard Text

  • Bring me to your vaults and I'll see!
  • One evening during the carnival season, Montresor bumps into an intoxicated Fortunato. In an attempt to lure him to his immolation, Montresor mentions his "pipe of Amontillado", located in his vaults, and Fortunato is determined to see if it really is Amontillado.
  • I received a pipe of Amontillado and I have my doubts!
  • Montresor lures Fortunato into his eerie wine vault. During the walk, Fortunato coughs occasionally (due to nitre) and Montresor offers to go back. However, Fortunato denies the offer.
  • Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!
  • It must be the nitre! We should go back!
  • Montresor offers Fortunato Medoc wine to help his cough. They both toast. Little did Fortunato know that Montresor offered him wine to intoxicate him even more.
  • OH! Medoc wine!
  • Here some Medoc wine for your cough! Let us toast!
  • When they reach the end of the catacombs, there was no Amontillado but fetters. Fortunato fettered him to the granite and began his act of revenge; he started to bury him with bricks.
  • Where's the Amontillado?!
  • Montresor carefully laid each tier of the masonry. As he laid the tiers, a succession of loud screams and movement of chains came from the "prisoner".
  • The Amontillado!!!
  • Finally, Montresor accomplished his act of revenge by concealing Fortunato alive. When Fortunato ventured upon insult, Montresor sought revenge and has succeeded.
