  • CHAPTER 1: ORIGINS
  • It all started when Britain restricted American trade by blockading them. 10,000 Native Americans sided with Britain. James Madison got mad, and declared war.
  • IT'S WAR!
  • CHAPTER 2: HAZARD IS MY MIDDLE NAME
  • Captain Oliver Hazard Perry defeated the British in a dangerous battle at Lake Erie.
  • CHAPTER 3: RETALIATION
  • In an attempt to scare America, the British fought back by setting fire to the White House, the Capitol, and other important government buildings.
  • CHAPTER 4: B.O.B. (BOMBS OVER BALTIMORE)
  • After defending Baltimore from a bombing attack, an American flag was flown above Fort McHenry. This inspired Francis Scott Key to write the "Star Spangled Banner".
  • CHAPTER 5: ANDREW JACKSON: WAR HERO
  • Andrew Jackson and his 5,000 soldiers absolutely demolished 7,500 British soldiers at the Battle of New Orleans. Afterwards, Madison ended the war with a treaty.
  • CHAPTER 6: A NEW BEGINNING
  • The War of 1812 is one of the most important wars in U.S. history. In fact, it sparked the Industrial Revolution, as it made people realize that America needed to improve.
